  • As Columbia Divest for Climate Justice (CDCJ) continues its occupation of Low Library demanding that University President Lee Bollinger recommend the University fully divest from its shares in fossil fuel companies, key players remained divided as to whether and how such a decision should be implemented. CDCJ began its campaign four years ago, but the push for fossil fuel divestment has gained traction at Columbia’s peer institutions—Yale University recently became the first Ivy League institution to partially divest from fossil fuels.
