2023 Fall Forum | October 25, 2023, Virginia Beach, VA 

IEN's 2023 Fall Forum was a highly interactive, pragmatic program focused on peer-learning among endowments to advance sustainable and mission-aligned investment strategies that can reduce risk, enhance returns, and drive positive social and environmental outcomes.

2023 Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit | February 5-7, 2023, Miami, FL 

Organized in partnership with Second Nature, the 2023 Summit brought together 300+ higher education presidents, chancellors, trustees, and other senior leaders committed to accelerating climate solutions for courageous conversations with peers and the creation of new partnerships to find solutions to the most consequential climate and justice issues of our time.

2022 Institutional Investor Roundtable at the Nest Summit Campus | September 22, 2022, NY, NY

We convened approximately 100-120 Trustees, CIOs, endowment staff, asset managers, investment consultants, Outsourced CIOs, retirement planning experts, sustainability leaders, faculty and nonprofit partners for thought-provoking and pragmatic learning that inspired action.

Organized in partnership with Second Nature, the 2022 Summit brought together 600+ higher education leaders for courageous conversations, creation of new partnerships and to connect with peers to find solutions to the most consequential climate and justice issues of our time.

A year long virtual convening led by Second Nature and IEN to support the process of learning, planning and acting on climate and justice on our campuses, in our communities, and across our society and economy.

Intentionally Designed Endowments Dinner, New York City | October 17, 2019, NY, NY

This peer-learning roundtable for endowment trustees, CIOs, endowment staff, and other key endowment decision makers and influencers explored the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into the investment process

ESG & Community Impact Investing Roundtable | September 6, 2019, Berkeley, CA

IEN organized the ESG & Community Impact Investing Roundtable at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. The half-day event brought together a diverse group of endowment decision-makers, investment firms, nonprofit leaders and other stakeholders looking to enhance environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration into their investment process to positively impact communities near their campuses and around the world.

An Introduction to The IEN Roadmap & How The University of New Hampshire Intentionally Invests l May 9th, 2019, Cambridge, MA

This event gathering Boston area professionals to learn about the Roadmap for Intentionally Designed Endowments, and to hear University of New Hampshire stakeholders describe the why’s and how’s of the journey they are on to align investments with their campus-wide sustainability goals. The panel was followed by Q&A, discussion, and networking time.

Intentionally Designed Endowments Roundtable at Total Impact Philadelphia | May 2, 2019, Philadelphia, PA

The roundtable gathered fiduciaries from colleges, universities, and other purpose-driven organizations, as well as a select group of experts from the sustainable investing field to discuss how their peers have started their journey in creating intentionally designed endowments. 

HBCU Impact Investment Summit | April 17, 2019, Durham, NC

Organized by HBCU Green Fund, IEN supported this summit convening Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the area to discuss ways in which HBCUs can attract more investments and finance environmentally responsible improvements in school infrastructure. 

Student Conference for Corporate Responsibility | April 13 -14, 2019, New Haven, CT

Co-hosted with The Dwight Hall Socially Responsible Investment Fund at Yale University, this conference convened undergraduate and graduate students and faculty involved in running student-managed funds across the country, with the goal of broadening students' understanding of both sustainable finance and shareholder engagement.

Student and Faculty Roundtable at the SRI Conference l November 1, 2018, Colorado Springs, CO

Hosted a workshop at the SRI Conference in Colorado Springs, CO for students and faculty to discuss the intersection of higher education and sustainable investing and how they could work together to increase the integration of sustainable investing practices into curriculum, student-managed funds, and college and university endowments.

Intentionally Designed Endowment Roundtable at the Appalachian Energy Summit | July 30 - August 1, 2018, Boone, NC

Held as part of the Appalachian Energy Summit, the workshop gathered endowment professionals from North Carolina schools to discuss what environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing is, what is isn't, and what resources are needed to help them learn more about ESG. 

Community Impact Investing Roundtable | June 11, 2018, Boston, MA 

Presented in partnership with The Boston Foundation, Community Investment Management, Prime Buchholz, and Cambridge Associates with a focus on how colleges, universities and community foundations can invest their endowments in their local communities.
