IEN 2026 Virtual Forum — Deepening Our Roots

Deepening Our Roots

June 2–4, 2026  ·  Virtual Forum

The theme of this year's forum is Deepening Our Roots — grounding ourselves more firmly in the work we have already built: the relationships, the frameworks, and the commitments that have brought this community together. In a moment that calls for clarity and resilience, we return to the work and outcomes that have improved our communities and planet.

The financial risks posed by climate change, the systemic dynamics that drive them, and the justice dimensions that shape their impacts — these are not political questions. They are fiduciary ones. The obligations of loyalty, prudence, and care that govern institutional investors do not change with the political winds. That is what this work has always been about.

Over three half-day sessions, attendees will strengthen their expertise and their connections — reinforcing the case for what endowments and foundations have already been doing, and building the tools to go further.

  • Navigate the clean energy transition under geopolitical instability
  • Invest responsibly in AI — risks, opportunities, and guardrails
  • Align climate action with fiduciary duty — the legal and financial case
  • Think systems-level: portfolio strategies that address root causes
  • Center justice and equity while managing political pushback
  • Legal playbook for endowments and foundations pursuing sustainable strategies
  • Mobilize sponsors and administrators for sustainable DC and DB plans
  • Elevate pension leadership — case studies and practical tools
