Aaron Moore, Executive Director, Advancement, California State University, Office of the Chancellor

Aaron is a seasoned higher education administrator leading advancement and philanthropic nonprofit finance functions at the California State University (CSU) system. He serves as the CFO of the CSU Foundation, the philanthropic auxiliary for the CSU Office of the Chancellor and the systemwide service provider for multi-campus grants, scholarships, and charitable gift annuities. In this role, he oversees the foundation's finance, administration, donor relations, and board relations. He has successfully grown the foundation's assets by 53%, achieved 100% clean audit opinions, and led the update to the investment policy that implemented an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investment strategy to the portfolio. He also fosters strong relationships with the foundation's board members, who represent leadership of key national industries, and support the CSU's advancement mission and goals. Aaron also serves as the Executive Director of the CSU Alumni Council, an institutionally-related nonprofit with a 50-person board representing the 4.2 million global alumni of the California State University. This includes oversight of the university’s systemwide alumni engagement activities both domestically and internationally.
