Bard College

Endowment Value: $1 billion (2021)

Bard College is a liberal arts college located in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York with a student population of about 2,000. The College has a mission to innovate through ongoing social, environmental, and economic challenges. The endowment is managed by the Bard College investment committee and Soros Fund Management. 

In 2007, Bard College founded the Socially Responsible Investment Committee (SRIC) which is a student-led committee that invests on behalf of the student body with the goal of creating positive social change. 

In 2009, Bard College’s President Bostein signed the Carbon Commitment (ACUPCC) to achieve climate neutrality by 2035. 

Additionally, the Bard Sustainability Council is responsible for advising the College on sustainability issues and creating sustainable events. In 2017, the Sustainability Council facilitated a climate action plan.
