Jeff Mindlin, CIO at The Nature Conservancy, will open the conversation with a brief presentation on TNC's climate investing strategy. Following this institutional investor perspective, lightning round presentations from climate VC investors will provide an overview of how they approach delivering impact and returns.

Jeff Mindlin
Chief Investment Officer, The Nature Conservancy
Jeff Mindlin is The Nature Conservancy's Chief Investment Officer, leading the strategic management of TNC's endowment and long-term investment assets. In this role, Jeff serves as a senior ambassador of TNC's investment strategy and mission, fostering relationships with investment partners, donors, financial intermediaries and other stakeholders.
Prior to joining TNC, Jeff worked at ASU Enterprise Partners since 2017 as the inaugural Chief Investment Officer. In this role, he guided the endowment through massive growth and was responsible for managing about US$2 billion of Arizona State University Foundation and ASU Enterprise Partners' investment capital. During his tenure, he was also tasked with aligning the investment strategy with ASU's leadership in sustainability. In 2023, Jeff was named Sustainability Innovator of the Year by Chief Investment Officer magazine for his role in ensuring these efforts aligned.
Jeff served on the boards of ASU's education technology accelerator (ASU ScaleU) and angel investor network (InvestU). He acted as a trustee to the retirement plan and advised on the investment management of ASU's operating funds. To support ASU's emphasis on experiential learning and sustainability, he was active with multiple student-managed funds and finance-related clubs. In addition, Jeff chaired the TIAA-Nuveen Investment Council and served on the Intentional Endowments Network's Executive Committee and Net Zero Working Group.
He previously served as Tower Square Investment Management's executive director and co-chief investment officer, overseeing the portfolio management team's portfolio selection, trading, proprietary money management and product development. He co-chaired the investment committee, which oversaw more than $5 billion in client assets.
He obtained bachelor's degrees in economics and finance from the W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU, where he also received the prestigious Moeur Award. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation. He is also the recipient of the 2025 NACUBO Rodney H. Adams Endowment Award.

Rob Day
Partner & Co-Founder, Spring Lane Capital
Rob Day has been a sustainable resources private equity investor since 2004, and acts or has served as a Director, Observer and advisory board member to multiple companies in the energy tech and related sectors. Rob also serves on the Board at the New England Clean Energy Council and the Investment Committee of the Clean Energy Trust. From 2005–2016 he authored the column Cleantech Investing, which appeared on GreentechMedia.com, and co-hosted several conferences with that group on the topic of new investment models for the sustainability sector.
Formerly a consultant with Bain & Company, Rob has worked with companies and evaluated private equity transactions in the energy/utilities, telecom, IT, medical/pharmaceutical, and retail industries. Earlier in his career, Rob was a member of the World Resources Institute's Sustainable Enterprise Program, where he co-authored the report The Next Bottom Line: Making Sustainable Development Tangible. Rob received his MBA at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University), and his BA at Swarthmore College. A strong advocate for youth sports, he also served as the President of the Marblehead Youth Soccer Association from 2020–2024.
Dan Goldman
Co-founder & Managing Partner, Clean Energy Ventures
Dan Goldman is a co-founder and managing director at Clean Energy Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on investing in early-stage climate tech companies commercializing disruptive advanced energy technologies that can grow to scale and address global climate disruption.
Dan has over 25 years of energy industry experience and has been investing at the project and venture stages for most of his career, with over $4 billion of transactions completed. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BS from Cornell University. Dan lives in Newton, MA and is a competitive age-group road cyclist and world-qualifying triathlete.

Johanna Wolfson
Co-founder & General Partner, Azolla Ventures
Johanna Wolfson is co-founder and General Partner of Azolla Ventures and previously co-founded Prime Impact Fund, Azolla Ventures' predecessor. The funds collectively are pioneering blended capital models for outsized impact in climate.
Johanna has served as investment lead and/or early board member across multiple industries for companies including Zanskar Geothermal, Sublime Systems, Dig Energy, Calcarea, Rain, and Still Bright. She serves as an advisor for multiple investment and entrepreneurial launching platforms, including Evergreen Climate Innovations, Activate, and Innovation Crossroads.
Prior to Prime Impact Fund and Azolla Ventures, Johanna served as the U.S. Department of Energy's Technology-to-Market Director for the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy portfolio. Johanna holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from MIT, where she conducted research on optics and solid-state physics.
