Julia J. Parker is a native of Omaha, Nebraska and has worked in both the public and private sector in community development, impact investing and technology.  

After stints working in the US Senate and with the City of Omaha, Julia started her nonprofit career at Building Bright Futures, a nonprofit incubator supporting organizations focused on educational outcomes for children experiencing the violence of poverty.  She went on to found a nonprofit strategy consultancy, Park4029 that worked with small, high growth mission based organizations.  Julia then served as Executive Director of Omaha Small Business Network (OSBN) a community development corporation.  With a portfolio of $750,000 she worked on debt capital for BIPOC owned small businesses and social enterprises.  She founded the OSBN Social Impact Accelerator, a 50,000 sq/ft facility housing over 28 social enterprises, start-ups and small businesses and provided guidance to clients including financial support ranging from grants to debt and equity. After 14 months the accelerator supported 150 jobs and generated $2.5M in annual revenue in a low wealth BIPOC community.  

Julia has a passion for investing in BIPOC entrepreneurs and business owners which she pursued as Director of Economic Development at Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation a Boston area CDFI. Her portfolio focused on debt capital up to $250,000 for underrepresented founders.  Julia currently serves as Managing Director at the Crane Institute for Sustainability’s Intentional Endowment’s Network

Julia is also an investor at Odd/On VC supporting BIPOC and womxn entrepreneurs at the pre-seed and seed stage.  She is also VC in Residence at Pipeline Angels a VC fund creating funding for trans women, cis women, nonbinary, two-spirit, agender, and gender-nonconforming founders.  Julia is also a VC Scout for AWS and a Fellow at Two Sigma Ventures. 

Julia holds a BA in Political Science and a BA in International Relations from Creighton University and a MSUS in Urban Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Julia has an MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management focusing on Finance and Entrepreneurship.  In her spare time, Julia enjoys being a guest on Star Trek podcasts and doing pop culture reviews on YouTube.
