The Rockefeller Brothers Fund is a philanthropic foundation founded in 1940 by the sons of John D. Rockefeller Jr. It supports social change initiatives around the world, focusing on democratic governance, sustainable development, and peacebuilding. Through grants and advocacy, the fund aims to advance justice, sustainability, and international cooperation.
According to TIIP research the Rockefeller Brothers Fund outperformed the market benchmark over the last ten years (2025). Geraldine Watson who is executive vice president for finance, operations, and Pocantico at the RBF, said “our goal was always to combat the narrative that you have to be willing to lose money to do good.” The RBF portfolio consistently beat the benchmark with an annual return of 7.76 percent with 27 percent less risk.
