Whitney Sweeney

Sustainability Investment Director, Schroders

Whitney Sweeney is a Sustainability Investment Director at Schroders. Whitney joined Schroders in 2006  and has held a number of roles across Schroders including Investment Strategist, Fixed Income Investment Director and Portfolio Manager, Tax-Exempt Fixed Income. As a Sustainability Investment Director, Whitney’s responsibilities include strategy, integration and client engagement across the  Americas. 

Whitney previously worked at MBNA America responsible for profitability analysis, client segmentation and  credit risk strategies. Prior to MBNA America, she worked for the State of Delaware as the Deputy Principal Assistant to the State’s Chief Financial Officer and served as a member of Governor Thomas R. Carper’s Legislative and Policy Group. Whitney’s career began in 1993 at The WEFA Group (Wharton Econometrics Forecasting Associates) as a Senior Economic Analyst where she was responsible for forecasting state and  local economies. 

Whitney has been deeply involved in charitable and volunteering activities, especially in her home state of  Delaware, including previously serving as the President of the Delaware State Board of Education and as a Trustee of the University of Delaware. She is currently a Trustee for the Delaware Historical Society and serves on the investment subcommittee for the Free Library Foundation of Philadelphia.
