Chris Wigley, Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, Mirova

Christopher Wigley is Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager with Mirova. He began his career in 1987 with the Mitsui Bank in London, managing the bank’s fixed income investment portfolio. In 1996, Mr. Wigley joined Aioi Insurance Company of Europe as the investment manager responsible primarily for European government bonds, corporate bonds and European branch investments. In 2004, Mr. Wigley became the senior fund manager at Epworth Investment Management, a specialist in ethical investment. At Epworth, Mr. Wigley pioneered ESG integration in fixed income by applying ESG ratings to corporate bond portfolios. He joined Mirova in 2014.

Mr. Wigley is a graduate of the University of Essex in England. He is also a Chartered Wealth Manager and has over 25 years of professional fixed income investment experience. He has been a member of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association since 2002 and served on a UK advisory group of Green Bond investors from 2009 through 2011. Mr. Wigley has also served as a consultant to the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investment. He has been a member of the Green Bond Principles Executive Committee since 2004, where he has helped to evolve the organization's Green Bond and Social Bond Principles.
