Endowments Investing to Meet the Climate Crisis

September 21, 2021 at 11 - 12pm EDT

In the run-up to the COP26 climate negotiations in November, and in the wake of the 6th Assessment Report from the IPCC, the urgency for investor action on climate change has never been higher.  Endowments and other asset owners are increasingly committing to Net Zero Portfolios to help drive down emissions from portfolio assets and reduce climate risk both at the portfolio level and system level.  Participants in this session will hear how endowments and other investors are investing to meet the climate crisis from the perspective of an asset owner, an investment consultant and an asset manager.  The conversation will explore questions such as how important is a portfolio carbon footprint? How can smaller asset owners engage companies through their managers?  How can investors ensure climate justice is central to decarbonization strategies?  Why is it important for investors to make bold commitments on climate now?
