As operating expenses rise, HBCUs are increasingly threatened with the loss of accreditation further limiting educational options and exacerbating negative local economic impacts. The HBCU Green Fund is organizing a summit gathering HBCU leaders to explore new investment channels to finance environmentally responsible improvements in school infrastructure and create healthier learning environments for students. Participants will also learn about the impact of Opportunity Zones on HBCUs and communities surrounding their campuses, as well as endowment investing strategies incorporating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion factors.
The summit is supported by the Ford Foundation, North Carolina Alumni Network, Intentional Endowment Network, Croatan Institute and Commons Energy.
