The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU (Historically Black College and University) located in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). The UVI experience is uniquely multi-cultural, international, entrepreneurial and intellectually stimulating. UVI provides a vital and exciting environment for educating future leaders of the global 21st century community.
Founded in 1962, UVI enrolls approximately 2,500 students on two campuses: the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix and the St. Thomas campus. The institution offers 47 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across its five colleges and schools.
On Dec. 19, 2017, the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees approved UVI to offer online degrees. Through the newly established UVI Online Division, UVI will begin to offer courses and programs in a 100% online format in early 2018. Courses will start the second Wednesday of each month and will run for 8 weeks.
